Stopped in on a Saturday evening after spending the day in Venice. We were greeted with a friendly hello at the door and the sound of jazz coming from inside. What a treat!

Enjoyed one of the most creative menus I've seen in a while. The cod was perfectly cooked and paired with a sweet/sour pickle and fresh vegetables from their garden.

If happen to return to Castelfranco I'll come here again.

Save yourself the trouble and only come here for the bar/lounge. The place has such eclectic decor. Great drinks and lounge music - the ambiance is cool.

However, the dining experience is a 2 rating, at best. We came in a large group although no other patrons were in the restaurant area. Service was super slow. They mixed a few orders, including missing one altogether. Our friend ended up sharing with others rather than wait. Food was mediocre with some not finishing their dishes, and also sharing with others who had ordered more edible dishes.

They have interesting dishes, but execution failed with flavor lacking.

My my. We spotted Alchemiste across the road, waiting beneath the loggia, gallery of a medieval villa opposite the main Torre gateway to the old centre of CastelFranco. Interesting, dark, intriguing. We pressed our noses against the windows in the bright closing hours of midday and, hooked by the eclectic decor inside, settled on looking it up for a booking.

That evening we wandered in. The friendly greeting was pleased to see us and with unflustered nonchalance we were taken to choose a table. One with carved stone hands for vases and matching breadbasin took our fancy.

Under the moss filled globes that hung above our room we traced the choices on the menu around their origins and complements. Like the decor it was gorgeous, full and eclectic too.

We ordered wine, antipasti and Secundi and mellowed to the round, soul sound that blossomed from the speakers.

This place was full of sound, light, imagery and then a burst of taste and flavour.

I had a carpaccio of Tuna and the beef filled burata. Soused asparagus, blended with spiced onion and tuna carpaccio was mixed with an emulsion of..,I don’t know what, but it was bloomin’ gorgeous.

The beef was perfect and blended forkful after cut with a true satisfying blend of rich flavour and fresh texture.

The saki was great, the service sublime and we sat luxuriating in all the senses being plucked at once.

The music is sooo cool.

What a venue, what a cool, what a team.

Me and my husband went here on our first anniversay, since the place looked very warm and romantic.
But, since we entered in the restorant, we started to feel cold and it lasted all evening. In the first plate everything seemed ok.
At the second plate, we ordered FASSONA “Omegalleva” in Crosta.
The bread was burned from outside, and inside was not cooked well. The meat was hard and strong.
I think the price should at least justify the place and the quality, because is not a cheap restaurant.
We left very dissapointed….
