Always an amazing culinary experience. I love the chef tasting menu with the wine pairing. Chef Dan is so creative with food combinations and the presentation is extraordinary. And their Gluten Free accomodations are on par with the rest of the offerings.

The latest dessert, the slow baked peaches was mind blowing.

10/10 would recommend! We decided to splurge and each went for the chef’s 4 course dinner. Zero regrets. We did the maths and we ended up getting ~$20 extra in food (each). Regardless, the food was amazing. Honestly, the risotto with strawberries didn’t look particularly appealing but we were pleasantly surprised to discover that it was brimming with flavor. Everything else was hella good, too.

And their drinks were delicious, too! The shorter beverage was the out-of-this-world apple milk punch which tasted like a homemade apple pie. The taller beverage was a mocktail and was super refreshing.

We had a lovely server, Alisa. The rest of the staff were friendly as well. The food was expensive, but worth it for a special night out! You better believe we’ll be back.

I just have to give a shout because I’ve never been anywhere as dietary restriction (strict strict) friendly as Pig, chefs and team went way above and beyond to accommodate me for a wedding reception and it made my evening. Incredible food that’s current, contemporary, very deliberate, and forward but completely unpretentious. On top of being one of the best plates in Madison for dinner, I could not recommend them more for small private events.

The food was terrible, overpriced and entirely inappropriate for “fine dining”

The Oregntana tasted like mediocre fish cakes. All of the listed ingredients were entirely lost in smoke and salmon.

The raviolo was bland. no creativity, no interesting flavors. Everything was overshadowed by parmesan and bacon that ultimately defined the dish.

But none of this would have led me to waste my time writing this review had it not been for the “salmon collars.”

When I received the plate, I actually looked up, wondering whether there’s a hidden camera and a giggling crew waiting to pop around the corner.

These were salmon “bits” suitable for fish stock.

I was so stunned I immediately tried some, thinking to myself perhaps there’s a hidden delicacy here, something I have yet to try having dined in dozens of fine restaurants all over the country.

No. I found exactly what one would expect. Salmon. Salmon drenched in duck fat, but salmon nonetheless.

That dish was a spit in the face! 45 dollars to literally eat scraps! Feeding people salmon fins isn’t sophistication, it’s an insult to dinners’ intelligence.

Visited for our third time for Valentine's Day. As always, everything was exquisite.

The seafood appetizer was well-orchestrated. Definitely some of the better preparations of salmon pie, scallops, oysters, and shrimp cocktail we've ever had. We did feel it was a bit out of place, but we understand the idea behind it, as it was Valentine's Day, and seafood is an aphrodisiac. Found out in hindsight we could've gotten a charcuterie board instead, which I would opt for if you're not in the mood for seafood.

The pasta bolognese was perfectly executed. It honestly had no room for improvement. It was an Italy-level dish.

The last entrée was chicken galantine. This was absolutely delightful. It was very appealing-looking, which chicken galantine often isn't, lol. Once again, perfectly executed, and it was served with hot honey glazed carrots and brussels sprouts. The veggies were perfectly balanced, caramelized and crispy on the outside and soft but still with a bite on the inside. We would eat this every week if we could.

I can't recall the name of the dessert, but it was fabulous. It was basically an extremely fancy, chocolate-hazelnut-raspberry churro. It was beautiful, well balanced, and a great finish to Valentine's Day.

Overall, A Pig in a Fur Coat is easily one of the top fine dining establishments in Madison. A stellar date night or celebratory dinner for anyone.

Had a specialty cocktail at the bar before enjoying the chef’s tasting menu. Exceptional service and very tasty food. Would absolutely recommend the tasting menu. Bryson, the bartender knows how to craft a fine cocktail. Will be happily returning to taste the seafood, the pork collar and the delicious cheesecake and chocolate buffino again. Try the amari flight!

You’re stupid if you don’t come here to eat. This is the best meal I’ve had in 10 years. I’m still eating as I’m writing this review. This is my first ever google review. Nick also needs a raise!

Truly a gastronomy experience. Service was very attentive and knowledgeable. Made ordering very easy and seamless. Drinks and plates were all brought out in a timely progression and water glasses we topped off without an ask. From the details that go on every plate to the craftsmanship of their cocktails, all served in a relaxed atmosphere. We were able to enjoy our feast with our company around our table without feeling rushed. Definitely a must try, and most definitely, we will return
