I'm a raw vegan and I have been to make vegan restaurants in US and Canada. This place was really good. Their food is great, the portions are big enough, and their juices are really tasty. It took them longer than expected to make the juice my friend ordered, so they just brought us 2 of those as an apology. The service was genuine and friendly. Recommending and will be back!

I love going to this place ever since but as I come more and more I noticed that the food mixture are not consistent. I love the burritos the most but each time I order , it tasted different. Sometimes if I get lucky "It taste great!" ,at times "it's bland" . I don't think this is a work one Chef. I would love to bring my family there but I'm afraid to disappoint them because I don't know which one we're going to get. It's very creative in plant based food but I hope they will keep the recipe consistent.

Really delightful meal, and surprisingly upscale feel to the tiny place given price and location. Sat next to a father and daughter who come every Fri night, and I can see why. Lovely people and delicious food. Not quite up to the standard of Elizabeth's Gone Raw in DC, but close, and one third the price!

Full disclosure – I am a omnivore. I have a very open palette and even enjoy a good vegan restaurant.

Rockin’ Raw was a birthday dinner for a now ex. Rockin’ Raw certainly contribute to the eventual demise. The smallish restaurant in the West Village is a staple for the tree hugging urban yuppies who don’t eat meat either for ‘ethical’ or dietary reasons. On the night we went it was a sleepy restaurant as we were the only patrons during prime dining hour. I guess they have a lot of carryout.

The meal itself was fine. It was nourishing but satisfying it is left for the eater to decide. My own experience is it comes off bland and doesn’t have the balance of flavors, seasoning and spice. If you call something ‘crab cakes’ with creamy dill sauce. Well, I kind expect it to taste well like crab. The Jalapeno poppers with sunflower ‘cheddar’ cheese. Really. Why even call it cheddar cheese? If this is what vegan thinks ‘cheddar’ cheese taste like no wonder they don’t eat cheese.

This is a really nice place with a creative menu. The service was really good, and, though the space is a bit narrow, there's a cute outside area.
I started with the yam chips and dip. The dip was creamy and lemony and was very nice, and the chips tasted good, but they were a bit hard (not in a crispy way).
I then had the Peruvian Trio Plate. All of that was terrific, except that the peppers stuffed with minced mushrooms, eggplant, herbs and cashew cheese were unpleasantly hot (spicy hot, that is). That plate came with a delicious, creamy, orange-colored dipping sauce though that made up for it.
My sister had the Rockin' Raw Burger lunch combo. The soup of the day was a cucumber, mint thing, which wasn't all that great. It was kind of bland, really, not much depth to it. The salad was wonderful though, and the burger was delicious. Just to warn you though, it's small, and it comes on that harder kind of rye bread. She got the tamarind juice with that, which was tasty and refreshing. For her dessert, she chose the pina colada ice cream, which was really good and, again, refreshing (we were there on one of those 95+ days, so this was very important).
I ordered the chocolate lucuma cheesecake and the carob vanilla ice cream, at the waiter's strong recommendation. I wanted more carob, but it was still tasty. The cheesecake was huge, which was interesting after all the small portions. It was delicious, though I left the place still not entirely sure what lucuma tastes like.

Now if only vegan/raw places didn't cause me horrible gas...

Impressive array of foods to satisfy any palate. I am an avid carnivore but came out of respect with a vegan friend and was floored. Jicama fries flavored to perfection. Delicious, savory sweet plantains and mushroom starter plate with Chilean corn starter plates were out of this world. The cheezy burrito made from sunflower seeds would out to shame the most Mexican and flavorful of traditional burrito plates on the east coast. Service was impeccable. Will return.

great food, great service, great location. The only disappointment was the size of the entree. Deserts are large than the sandwiches or wraps. I wish it was the other way around personally. Regardless, I would go there again anytime and recommend it to others 🙂

We started out with the nachos. They were so filling and delicious. The nut meet really hit the spot. I forgot what the cheese is made of, but I need it in my life.

We sat near the window, where there were some plants. Some bug fell onto the ledge, but it didn't get into our food.

The pasta was delicious. Like others, I didn't know it had to be cold. I thought it would at least be room temparature. Cold or not, it was a treat. I had the Tallarines a la Huancaina, but they were out of the Peruvian corn, so they just gave me more of the other veggies. It was a real treat.

There was only one person working there. She was the hostess and the waitress. She was awesome and attentive. She seemed to have an authentic interest in the food and the place. And she knew the menu like the back of her hand, which is always a plus.

I washed down my meal with a shot of lemon juice and magnesol.
